Soohibisk

* A perennial flowering shrub plant of the Malvaceae family. The plant has a highly branched bush with reddish stems, up to 150 cm high, large beautiful heart-shaped dark green leaves (12 cm long, 10 cm wide). The flowers are large and numerous. The plant will delight you with its flowering already in the first year from July to October. Musk hibiscus is used to decorate single and group plantings in flower beds and lawns, to create unique exquisite flower arrangements. Hibiscus is perfect for growing in a pot on a sunny windowsill, for bonsai.
In countries where hibiscus naturally grows, its young leaves and shoots are eaten as a vegetable dish, dried flower petals are included in the teas "Sudanese Rose" and "Karkade". In folk medicine, leaves and flowers, ground into a homogeneous mass, are used for malignant tumors, a gruel from flowers is used to treat carbuncles, ulcers of malignant origin.
Agrotechnics.
Prefers sunny places and well-drained, moist, fertile soils. Requires abundant regular watering, but does not like stagnant water, which can result in rotting of the plant roots. Drying of the earthen lump causes the shedding of flower buds. If the air is too dry, the leaves should be sprayed. This heat-loving plant should be planted in places protected from strong winds (but so that there is constant ventilation), and for the winter it requires pruning (up to 10-15 cm in height) and covering with mulch.
Seeds are sown for seedlings in late winter - early spring. Plants planted with seedlings begin to bloom in July and finish in October. Before sowing, the seeds are scarified and soaked in hot water for 48 hours, changing it every 12 hours. Then they are sown and germinated for 10-20 days at a temperature of +22+24°C.
Seedlings that have reached a height of 2-3 cm are transplanted to a permanent place when the threat of frost has passed. During the growing process, regular loosening, weeding, spraying and fertilizing with a complete complex fertilizer are carried out (preferably often and little by little). Before and after fertilizing, the plants are watered so as not to burn the roots. Foliar feeding is carried out by spraying the solution on the leaves and branches of the plant, trying not to get on the stem.
Musk hibiscus grows in one place for up to 20 years.
